Team MagNET (Magnetic Non-mechanical Energy Transfer) is a research team within the Gemstone Program at the University of Maryland Honors College consisting of 13 undergraduate students. Team MagNET was formed in Spring 2014 and plans to complete research by Spring 2017.
The team is working to develop a means to magnetically levitate, stabilize, and manipulate an object with the use of a microcontroller. This technology can be applied to a vast array of fields, ranging from increasing the speed of dampening shocks’ response to improving the efficiency of wind turbines.
